Former #Cardinals WR Early Doucet will sign with #Seahawks, I'm told. Had worked out for them. Reinforcements at receiver...

https://twitter.com/RapSheet/status/363428459717988352

For every move the 49ers make...

Doucet had career high 54 catches, 689 yards and 5 TDs in 2011 so he can produce. He will provide the Seahawks with needed depth after the injury of Percy Harvin.

He was a decent third banana during the Warner-Boldin-Fitzgerald years. Can't complain about the signing.

He can compete, that's all that really matters. He'll push everyone passed our current top 3 for a job and playing time. I like it

I really like this signing. Think he can contribute nicely as our #4 until Percy gets back then Early will be #5.

Just read the article on Seahawks.com. Caught something very humorous in the headline of the article.

I think they spelled his last name wrong

Good depth pick up, history of previous production fits the hole we have.

I highly doubt that he makes the team. He is going to be the 6th or 7th reciever.

Rice
Tate
Harvin (PUP)
Baldwin
Kearse
Williams (lighting up camp)
Then Doucet

I think he sticks till Harvin is back. Kearse looks good but is EXTREMELY unproven, Williams had massive ball security issues last time he played and is also a gamble. Doucet is depth insurance, just another guy they can take a look at who has proven production.

Good move, We need WRs I see our corp looking like this-

Sidney Rice
Golden Tate
Doug Baldwin
Early Doucet
Chris Harper

and if we keep six - Jermaine Kearse/Stephen Williams until Harvin gets back.

Oh ya forgot him!

Add Harper into the mix and I just dont see Early making it. Thats alot of recievers.

The final spot would probably be a battle between Williams, Doucet, and Kearse

I don't see Doucet ahead of Williams or Kearse unless they flop in the pre season. Carroll has been singing their praises all camp said Kearse "is a big part of what were going to do.".
