Donovan McNabb, easily the best quarterback in Eagles history, will formally announce his retirement as an Eagle during a press conference Monday morning.

McNabb played for the Eagles for 11 seasons, from 1999 as the second overall pick in the NFL draft until he was traded to the Washington Redskins in April, 2010.

He is the team's all-time leader in every major passing category, including attempts (4,746), completions (2,801), yards (32,873), and touchdowns (216). He led the team to 91 regular season and nine playoff wins over his 11-year stint in Philadelphia. His 3,469 career rushing yards rank sixth all-time among NFL quarterbacks.

McNabb led the Eagles to five NFC Championship games (winning one) and the Super Bowl in 2005, which the Eagles lost. But that 2004-05 season was McNabb's best in the NFL. With Terrell Owens as the wide receiver, McNabb threw for 3,875 yards that season, with 31 touchdowns and just eight interceptions.

I wish he would've retired against the Chiefs.

How I miss McNabb under center. Bestest of luck in all his future endeavours and hopefully he becomes a better analyst because as of right now, he sucks.

Huge reaction by the crowd today when he walked out. He should open a restaurant or something instead if the analyzing he's trying.

The right move. Good for Donovan.

That's a hell of a group to be part of. Sad thing is Most will always blame McNabb for never winning a SB rather then the QB he truely was. He's the only one among that list to never be surround by a true #1 WR (if not 2) for more then a season. Absolute shame and travesty Andy Reid and Joe Banner didn't make that position more of a priority then they did.

Wasted many years with scrubs at WR. Atrocious.

I remember in one season [2003], McNabb didn't even complete a TD pass to a WR until week 9. [ironically that TD pass on week 9 went to Freddie Mitchell, who was in-fact, a first round pick]

I read it quickly and thought it said "Glad he's retiring right away." - Laughing [that was funny because he really dragged this thing on and on]

Best thing to happen to the Eagles in decades.

Hopefully he is a HOFer some day.

Haters can hate but one thing is crystal clear. Best QB ever in Eagles history and the guys behind him aren't even close.
