Damn, not a good start to training camps. Ravens need him to stay healthy...

Not good. Pitta and Smith are two pass catchers that they absolutely could not afford to lose. Hope it's nothing big.

He has a dislocated hip, the team said he will miss at least the week 1 Denver game.

From what I am told, an injury like Pitta's is a 3 month injury/best case. If there are complications, obviously could be much longer.

That's really bad.

They have to go find a tight end now

Pitta will be a huge loss, but I don't know if the Ravens will go and sign anyone immediately. Ed Dickson is supposed to be the starter anyway, and can make plays. He's just going to have to step up. Matt Furstenburg has impressed so far in OTAs and Training Camp, and Kyle Juszczyk is capable of playing TE as well. I don't know there will be many guys available who can be much more effective.

But, for what it's worth, Visanthe Shiancoe was apparently visiting the Ravens a couple of days ago.

I don't think we need to go out and get a TE, I'd be comfortable with Dickson for the first few weeks. He had 50+ catches as a starter just a couple years ago before Pitta came onto the scene.

Ugh, terrible loss. I know people mock his curious inclusion in the top 100, but he's so important to our offense. Flacco's favorite receiver and go-to-guy on big conversions. I predicted him to lead the Ravens in receiving this year over Torrey Smith. Hopefully he can come back at some point later this season.

Not really, Ed Dickson is one of the best "backup" TE's in the league, and we're not going to find anyone much better than the depth we already have.

Well, if they dwindle much more, no one will be able to blame Flacco if the Ravens have a poor season. Unless they go the, 'oh, his huge contract cost them Q', or some nonsense.
