I had broken down your response by sections to reply individually, and then decided against it, but when I removed my response, it removed all of yours as well. And I'm too lazy to go back and re-select your quote so I just tl;dr'ed it.

Cause reasons

LOL, I can't say I haven't done the same thing. But I just don't type tl;dr.

Here are my criticism of Weeden:

He doesn't yet know the system well enough to play as fast as he needs to in order to be more efficient.

This also has the trickle-down effect of affecting certain qualities of his passes that might have helped his receivers to be more productive.

He does not have the innate athletic ability of Luck, RG3, or other elite 'athletic' QBs--which limits his ability to rush for 1st downs or TDs on the goal line.

He is unable to turn one of his current WRs into a Reggie Wayne, a Wes Welker, Andre Johnson, Victor Cruz, or similar type receiver. Or was that someone else's criticism?

What about his tendency to stare down receivers, and his on-again off-again ball placement accuracy? And his occasional spurts of pocket terror, where he seems to panic in the face of only minor pressure, while being strong in the face of actual pressure?

Stare down receivers? I think that is very overstated. The typical consequence of that action is a defended pass or an INT. How many defended passes or INTs were caused by Weeden 'staring down' his receiver last Sunday?

Does he do it sometimes? Sure. Does he need to do better at moving the safety? Sure. Should he be doing better after 16 games of experience (15 in the WCO) and limited receiving talent? I can't say.

Ball placement goes back to the criticism I stated earlier. I think that is a function of not playing fast enough in the new offense.

Pocket terror is hyperbole. But I get that he's not the most mobile QB. It seems that when the play's blocking scheme accounts for some pressure, he does better than when the failure of pass-blocking suprises him. That't hardly suprising.

Ok Sunday's performance was pure suck with a few exceptions. But do we have to start with the mocks so soon with so many unknowns as to so many key variables?

It's just a discussion piece yes it is early, but it's better discussing a mock draft than which person in the organization is the worst person in he world in EVERY thread

You wouldn't be implying, so much as even suggesting that my justified (so far, at least) disdain for Weeden taints every post I make, would you?

Btw: I loathe Cousins more. Razz

Really? I think that makes it even funnier since I don't have to feel bad for those involved.
