The #Lions have signed free-agent WR Chaz Schilens. He caught 28 passes for 289 yards and two scored last season for New York Jets.

Thanks for once again breaking the news first Billy!

Most likely another camp body, with a slight chance at the roster spot imo.

Contradicting? so the OP said that Lions will not sign Schillens? Rolling Eyes

Why can't you just take things easy? I mean... really, why?

You're welcome.

And Schillens actually spend time with the Patriots on try-out bases during mini camp this off-season, but the Pats passed on signing him, probably a bad sign.

Remember when Chaz Schilens was the Chuck Norris of Football's Future?

I heard they were also working out Steve Breaston (who has failed a physical with the Steelers and Browns) and Laurent Robinson.

Schilens was supposed to be the next Jerry Rice according to some members.

Schillens has good speed and is 6'4"... proof that that doesn't always make you a good receiver as some GMs seem to think with their draft picks. Wish he'd step up and become a true #2 for us but he's been given chances before and hasn't shown much.

The little upside you can look at is the fact Schilens dealt with really poor QBs throughout his career, so maybe he could become a better player with a top QB.
