EVERYONE READ THIS!!!!

Since this thread normall gets a lot of pictures and and other general interest stories from TC we are going to do something a little different. Use this thread for all that good stuff and general statments about how players are doing. Also use it for talk of any relatively minor injuries that may happen.

However, information that is pertinent to pretty clear position battes place in these threads.

Defensive Depth Chart
Offesive Depth Chart

Doing it this way will allow or discussion that is easier to follow and in the same place so we can keep track of it.

According to the Houston Chronicle, "nobody has any clue" when new Texans FS Ed Reed (hip surgery) will be healthy and ready to play.

Shiloh Keo time.

I feel this might be our Ahman Green but on defense.

Thank god we drafted Swearinger in round 2. Hopefully Reed comes back soon, but in the meantime DJ should benefit for having 1st team reps. Downside is that we actually might to see Keo on the field. SMH.

Also, glad we got Nuke Hopkins signed. Not too long before we get Swearinger and Williams signed. 4 years 7.26 Million, and the first 3 years are guaranteed. Not bad.

Ron Dayne is the 3rd or 4th best back in team history, sir. Watch your tongue.

I think I just threw up in my mouth, from the truthfulness of that statement....

Well, if we define strictly by production, order is:
1. Arian Foster
2. Domanick Davis
3. Steve Slaton
4. Ron Dayne
5. Ben Tate
6. Johnathan Wells
7. Ahman Green
8. James Allen
9. Ryan Moats
10. Wali Lundy

That list ought to further churn your stomach. Foster & Davis each essentially started 3 seasons, Slaton and Dayne 2, with Wells, Allen (and Stacey Mack) splitting the first season. The rest got theirs from spot starts and garbage duty with the exception of Green who scattered 6 starts despite being handed the job twice.

If I were building a list of top 10 backs in team history based on ability vs. opportunity, I'd ditch the broken version of Ahman Green we got on principal alone as wells as Allen & Wells pathetic 3.3 & 3.1 ypc's and elevate Derrick Ward and Justin Forsett who put in solid relief efforts and give a nod to Darius Walker who logged 4 impressive games in 07 including a 4.6 ypc. I could also make an argument for 2 preseason wonders like Chris Obgannaya or Johnathan Grimes deserving a slot ahead of a scrub like Lundy.

FYI - David Carr remains 5th on our career rushing list ahead of Ben Tate. Carr's 68 fumbles record is likely safe.

If you want to see an even sadder list, check out top 10 receivers. Hint: We still haven't knocked Billy Miller off that list and Corey Bradford is still top 5!
