Quote: | Geno Smith is not at Jets West camp yesterday and teammates are not even sure if he is coming, tweeted Kristian Dyer on Thursday morning. Jake Steinberg later tweeted that he was in Florida yesterday.
According to Steinberg, Ryan Spadola, Vidal Hazelton, Clyde Gates, Thomas Mayo, Stephen Hill and Jordan White are the wide receivers in Jets West as of Thursday morning.
UPDATE (2:57pm ET) – A more recent image posted by Jordan White on Instagram would appear to show that Jeremy Kerley, Jeff Cumberland and Konrad Reuland are all in attendance, along with Chris Ivory who appeared in an image posted by Sanchez earlier today. |

I am pretty disappointed to hear that Geno Smith is not at Jets West. |

Was Geno even invited? Or are we not sure? |

If Tebow was invited I see no reason why Geno wouldn't be.
It doesn't matter too much to me. Clearly Jets West doesn't help that much. _________________

I kind of like that he's not there. It says he intends to compete for the starting job for real, and he's not buying into Mark Sanchez's dog and pony show. |

I do like the fact that the competition is more serious now. I don't care who start, I just want to win.
Hopefully Hill take this time to work on his hands. Can't wait to see what the other WRs can do this preseason. _________________

That's what I was thinking.
But I dono, I think a rookie should see any opportunity to hang with teammates and build camaraderie as worthwhile.
I hope Geno's got his head in the books somewhere. |

That's a decent point, I hadn't thought of it that way.
Nonetheless, I can't help but feel like he's missing out on a opportunity to build some chemistry with the other guys on offense.
Oh well. |

Why should he work out with a garbage QB? I don't want Geno following Mark. _________________

I agree with this 100% but for some reason I picture Geno asking Jay-z if he should go to Jet's West and he answers "You crazy for this one" or " you got 99 problems but this ain't one"
i'm just going to go to bed now.... |

Right! Rather not him pick up any bad habits. |

Any where from 5 to 8 of those guys mentioned are going to be the skill players that the Qb will be working with during the season (probably all during pre season) so IMO Geno was pretty shortsighted to not take the opportunity to practice with them and build chemistry.
As to picking up bad habits from Sanchez, I don't think not being able to handle pressure is communicable |

It clearly doesn't help the people who go, so it won't hurt the people who don't.
Chemistry is for mini-camp and training camp. I don't care at all who's there and who isn't. The only thing I see positive in this is Stephen Hill appears to be working his butt off. He was with Cro and the DBs before, and now he's with the offense. I really hope he can contribute this season. _________________

Cro is the perfect CB for Hill to go against. He can't just beat him with size and speed, so it would force Hill to run better routes. _________________

I'm glad Geno Smith isn't there. Sanchez is a bad influence. |
