New England Patriots running back Brandon Bolden sprained his ankle last winter and was unable to run during any part of the team's offseason training program, according to league sources.

Bolden suffered the ankle sprain while lifting weights on his own, when he didn't have his ankle planted correctly, a source familiar with the injury said. He is scheduled to meet with team trainers on Monday and believes his ankle has healed sufficiently, according to a source.

Bolden is on my list of "guys who have a good chance of being cut that will surprise people"

Being injured going into camp is never a good thing for a fringe player.

That's Dane Fletcher for me. I'm not sure why he seems to be penciled in everywhere. Beauharnais could pass him on the LB depth chart, we added a guy who can play OLB in Jamie Collins, and his special teams work isn't really impressive anyway.

I'm expecting Fletcher to be cut actually. He's not a good special teamer compared to some of the guys he's competing with (Koutouvides, Rivera), doesn't have the upside of Beauharnais and IMO isn't as useful as Edds.

Other than one or two nice games, Fletcher hasn't done anything to show he should be a lock for a backup spot and his injuries & lack of special teams ability work against him.
