What..........? i just posted something about how Matthew celebrated his new deal, the picture of Stafford is from the link.

You need to calm down... really, are you 75?

It is a football forum! MEant to talk about football.

Who gives a crap how he celebrated it?

I found it interesting. He didn't break any rules by posting that picture or the news.

Lets just talk about the contract, or love of boats.

How would you guys celebrate a new contract? If I had a boat, I'd be on it.

I would do the same, for sure. He's 25 and he just took care of any possible money problem he would ever have if he isn't too dumb with it, he should enjoy himself.

The pictured are from the fourth of July. Seems like them linking the two is them trying to stir the pot. He signed the contract today and was in the weight room and said he was. Going golfing afterwards.

Jealous former NFL QB Donovan McNabb on Stafford:

Quote:
“His footwork late in the games begins to drift a little bit, tries to throw the sidearm, be a gunslinger and that gets him into trouble,” McNabb said. “Turnovers (are a) critical part of the game. And that’s what affects the Detroit Lions from being one of the upper echelon (teams) on the offensive end is because of the turnovers and the lack of discipline when it comes to the drop-back game.”…”When you look at just the numbers overall, you have to think about 12,000 yards and being the youngest quarterback to reach this feat and also the things he’s been able to accomplish, you know you begin to question this.”…”What has he really done for the Detroit Lions? Nothing.”

Yeah, I dont really give a crap what McNabb has to say. Isn't he the one who didn't know there were ties in football? Laughing

here is a nice little article espn just came out with. Has some explanation's why his td numbers dropped. http://espn.go.com/blog/nfcnorth

McTigue: "Bad luck also played a part in Stafford’s diminished red-zone numbers. Detroit receivers were tackled inside the 5-yard line a league-high 23 times. Calvin Johnson was tackled eight times within the 5-yard line, including five times at the 1-yard line -- both numbers were league highs. In 2011, Johnson was tackled just twice inside the 5-yard line and once at the 1-yard line."

23 times wow.

Stafford was within 115 yards of throwing 43 TDs. That is pretty freaking ridiculous.

Stafford deal looks amazing in comparison to Ryans

I know Ryan won a playoff game but he has superior talent around him.

Bigger deal for a less talented QB. We got blasted even despite our current cap situation, and ATL is getting praise... at some times because "you have to hold on to a franchise QB when you have one." Some people don't have any perspective.

Ryan is a rich man's Pennington. Stafford is physically Farve 2.0. Just without any of the attitude or Sterger style nonsense. Plus a brain.

All has to do with success. Lions haven't had as much and thus Stafford doesn't get credit, probably deservedly so. Ryan, whether he's the sole reason or not (he's certainly a big part of it), got his team to the NFC Championship.
