I was reading the article below and started to wonder.... "IF" the Browns were to get the 1st overall pick in next years draft, who do you take? A once in a generation Defensive End or a Quarterback? Obviously if we are picking that high it means that Brandon Weeden failed miserably and a QB would be a huge need and most likely the biggest need. What if Jadeveon Clowny has such a monstrous junior year that he is literally a lock to be a star in teh NFL like many felt Andrew Luck would be at QB. Do you pass on the sure thing and go with the QB or go with the DE that doesn't necessarily fit your teams defensive scheme? What say you?

Clowney

He is a once and a generation talent...

I think I saw a QB just like Teddy, um 2 years ago...called RGIII

Also next years QB class is very stacked. I would want the Browns to trade up for a QB. It be great to walk away with a Clowney and a QB in the first.

I am also not buying the Bridgewater hype either. Dont forget what happen with Locker. He goes back for another year and ppl were projecting him to be a #1 overall type pick and the same with Barkley, they all have bad years and fall from where they were projected right after the draft

I see Bridgewater pulling a Geno Smith, but got or are getting crazy hype after the draft for the next years draft, both played in the big east, both had big games vs good teams in BCS bowl games.

I'll take the QB. No reason to pass over a possible franchise QB if we're at #1, not even for an awesome DE. I'd rather give up on Weeden in that scenario than Kruger, Sheard, or Mingo.

If we end up picking that high then weeden has failed so I pick

I am as big of a Clowney fan as any here, but I feel he is pure 4-3 DE, and he is an amazing Prospect but once in a generation is a bit much for me as I think Peppers was as good of if not a better prospect

I haven't watched enough of Bridgewater to make a fair decision.

Having said that, if we pick first, its b/c Weeden became a pile of suck. QB is the trump card. Unless some other QB option becomes available, it would have to a QB.

Clowny isnt going to be an OLB

Clowney is around 6'6 280.

I would love to see him at DE

if we are first pick because weeden got injured in the third game clowney.
2 if we pick first because horton defense gave up 27 points a game clowney.
3 we pick 1 because trent goes down bridgewater.
4 weeden stinks defense stinks trade them both for 3 number 1.

That'd totally be a waste of his abilities. Rumor has it we've got Rubin and Bryant slotted at DE to control the run and eat up space with penetration from the nose and OLBs. If we moved back to a 4-3 I'd be all about it, but I think we waste potential in moving him to a 3-4. Could he be JJ Watt, possibly. But I'd rather take a guy that I know would be set in a 4-3.

Remember, the browns are not a 34 team. They are a multiple front team.

I don't know if clowney can play with the same strength that Watt does, but there would certainly be a place for him on this defense.

Bridgewater all day long. This kid is a stud.

I would give our 2013 1st and 2nd along with a 2014 1st for Bridgewater. Even if Weeden looks good this year (and I have been an avid Weeden supporter), I would still go for Teddy. He is a franchise guy in the mold of the future QBs in the NFL.
