All the Jets media and coaches keep preaching multiple fronts. TBH I think the 4-3 and 3-4 classification is fading away. As offenses have evolved and become multiple, defenses must do the same. It is a bigger chess match now.
Besides 3-4 and 4-3 we will be playing alot of nickel too.
Rex's defenses consistently play as high a percentage with nickel personnel as any team in the NFL.
And I agree, over the last 5 seasons the idea of a team being a 3-4 or a 4-3 team is fading. More teams use both odd and even fronts and different combinations behind that.
Offenses employ too many 3+ WR sets on first and second downs to be strict with your defense. _________________ “You don’t burn out from going too fast. You burn out from going too slow and getting bored.”

In an interview two years ago, Mike Pettine laughed when he was asked about being a 34 defense, saying the Jets only used a base 3-4 for eighteen percent of their defensive snaps that year.
