With all that is going on in NE...with Gronk's back and Hernandez's heartlessness... I see a potential chance to trade Tony. What do you guys think? Moeaki for a 3rd? Seems like we are insured against his injury history with Kelce and Fasano. (I do believe this is his contract year too).

Or would it be more valuable to keep him and hope he is healthy enough to be the stud we all saw flashes of?

I think Moeaki has established a higher value than a 3rd round pick, provided he is healthy. That, of course, is the key point.

Keep him. He has good value as a receiver, but he is one of the best in line blockers in the NFL.

If we could get a third I'd take it.

No one would pay that price for him though, so best keep him.

Why would you trade Moeaki, the mover of mountains, master of his domain?

Because, you clearly don't see, we are unworthy of His Grace.

Moeaki for a third...yes please. I think it'd be more like a 5th if we're lucky. Has long standing injury concerns, wasn't the same after his knee surgery and because of his back might not be ready until TC.

We have the TEORN...and the TEOTF. While Moeaki is pretty nice gravy, I don't think he couldn't be replaced with a different 3rd string TE. Also, this regime has zero link to Moeaki, and at this point it'd just be moving on from an ok player with injury issues.

And this is coming from someone who LIKES Moeaki.

Greg Olsen drew a 3rd, and is similar player, with no where near the injury concerns, but a much better track record to judge from. Moeaki for a 5th maybe.

I was hoping a fourth was possible. Maybe conditionally. Presumably it would be a late R4 coming from NE. Anything higher is unrealistic.

Yeah Bigs I agree, I think a 5th is decent compensation for what we KNOW about Moeaki. Could it burn if he blows up, yup. But it's not like the Pats trade FOR a lot of players, because you never know what a 5th round pick can turn in to under Billy B.

Andy has a history of moving players who aren't 'available' on a consistent basis. Absent moving him, I hope he gets healthy and perform as we know he can when healthy.

I'd like him to have a decent season, and if we move him, we might get a late 3rd or 4th. Pipe dream maybe, but possible.

I would suggest we don't trade Moeaki so easily. He is a reliable receiver (when healthy) and I don't agree with just selling are talent especially when we don't even know what we have (legitimately) in Kelce. We do have Fasono Unless the offer is in our favor (lets say a 3 or 4) then there is no way I am trading hi.

Sorry NE for the loss in in their TE, but i am sure TB and BB will do what they have always done....WIN with whoever.

I think you're throwing the "great" around too easily. He's good when healthy, and if he could stay healthy could possibly be a dynamic weapon.

To call him great seems like a stretch for me.

True but I do think he is a top 5 to 7 recieving te I mean in his rookie year he looked like a future top 5 te he just hasn't t been healthy since

Then he cannot be regarded as a top anything. Besides, even healthy, he doesn't warrant that consideration. In no order, the following are all better:

Tony Gonzalez
Jason Witten
Rob Gronkowski
Jimmy Graham
Vernon Davis
Owen Daniels
Fred Davis
Antonio Gates

I'm sure there are more.
