With the recent reports from OTA that illuminated Orton's rapid deteriorating skills, is it time to move away from this experiment?

Since his signing I have contended that Orton is (or rather was) a top 32 QB and would be the perfect back-up. I am starting to question the effectiveness of that claim.

What Orton provided was veteran insurance and a bolstered practice for the 2nd and 3rd strings guys. However, if he is unable (or unwilling) to put in the due diligence to ensure his skills remain at peak condition, then perhaps it's time to find a new placeholder.

As many here are aware I am a firm advocate of draft a QB nearly yearly, and given that we missed on that this year - it falls to us then to search for Waiver Wire cuts and possible FA. Essentially my question is would you be comfortable moving on from Orton THIS year?

the reports coming out of OTA's is very concerning, but I think we should stick to him this year. He knows the system and we won't find a UDFA that will be servicable in case of a injury this year. Only trash FA's are still avalible, so I think it's best to keep Orton.

If we can find a better option, I'm more than in favor of moving on from Orton.

I don't have a problem moving on from Orton, but I believe he is a huge cap hit if we cut him this year.

I don't know if anyone knows but we did put in a Claim for Kafka when he was cut. Sounds like we are a bit interested to replace him.

Replace him with who? It's not like there are a ton of quality QB's out there.

There has been speculation about Vince Young. I'd take him as long as he doesn't open his mouth ever.

Plus he could help simulate RG3 and Vick in practice.

Broaddus had quite a write up on how Vince is a very different QB, Mechanically.

Personally, my thought was that Vince seemed to have too fragile a mindset, especially for Dallas, but that's admittedly a 3 year old perception.

He could be a decent back up. Seems hungry to get back in the league. He always had the talent, just a diva personality to hold him back.

Just stick with Orton. Nobody available who is better and my guess is he'll figure it out.

Also, didn't Dallas have Barkley and Nassib as 2nd rders? Not saying they would have been an answer, but depth chart would look better.

I am the biggest Arkansas fan on here. I saw every game he played for my Razorbacks. I also saw all the stories about his bad attitude and party hardy lifestyle. Granted, he might have matured in the 3 years since he left Arkansas. Even if he has, I'm sure he is still too overly confident in his arm strength. I did not like him as a Razorback, did not want him coming out of college and do not want him now.
