Not too surprised at this. I think we all anticipated either Moreno or McGahee getting the boot this offseason.

I will take this as a sign that the coaching staff is impressed with the Montee Ball/Ronnie Hillman duo so far.

Also, I will NOT miss the frequent McGahee fumbles.

Thanks Willis, you done good here.

Thank you Willis for the great memories of running all over the Raiders and for bringing back the mile high salute!

Many around here expected this. Hes injury and fumble prone, plus the Broncos want to get younger.

Its now on Ball, Hillman and Knowshon to carry the load. Knowshon is also now the best pass pro back we have.

Knowshon isn't a lock to make the team either, coming off of an injury he has a lot to prove.

I was told that McGahee's absence from the OTAs did not sit well Fox and Elway. The expected McGahee to be a veteran leader and his lack of participation was not well received by the powers that be at Dove Valley.

Given what we've seen from Elway the last 3 years, I would expect us to sign a veteran RB to compete for a job in camp.

Pretty surprised that he didn't even make it to camp. I wonder if this means Moreno has a better chance at making the 53.

Too bad Bradshaw isn't available.

This is the same exact reason I just wowed out aloud. Expected the move, but not that quickly. Shows me that Elway won't hesitate to bring down the hammer.

I believe hes a lock now. Before the offseason started, it was Knowshon or McGahee to go and the other be "the veteran back".

Cutting someone because of missed voluntary camp would be ridiculous. I'm not shocked he is gone, but I wanted him on the team. He was our best runner on the roster. And best pass blocker as well.

Spotrac's data says McGahee's release keeps $500K in dead money for the 2013 and 2014 seasons, but frees up $2.5M in cap space in 2013 and $2M in 2014.

I thought that McGahee would be cut if the team keeps 4 RB spots on the 53-man roster. The 4 RBs look like Montee Ball, Hillman, Moreno, and Hester.

I hope that McGahee isn't picked up by the Raiders or Chargers.

I'd say he has a better chance but he's not safe coming off of an injury.

My guess is that it came between McGahee as a third string/backup or try to latch on to another team. Broncos cut him now to give him time to find another place.

They didn't cut him because he missed voluntary workouts. I would question your sources AAA. Eventually common sense has to kick in.
