WR Chaz Schilens, who spent 2012 with the Jets, was 1 of 5 players at Patriots mini-camp on tryout basis, league source tells @ESPNBoston.

6-4, 225 pounds... excited yet? he also runs 4.38 with a 43 vertical. Schilens has had injury issues early on in his career but played 30 out of 32 games the past two seasons for the Raiders and Jets, he had 52 catches for 560 yards and 4 TDs during that time.

The chances he gets signed are pretty low after reports of Hawkins doing well and Edelman been back from his injury.

One of the most impressive physical specimens in the league. Not much of a player unfortunately.

From an athletic stand point, he is in the Vincent Jackson/Calvin Johnson level... but like you said, not much of a player.

Raise your hand if you remember back in the 2010/2011 offseasons when every Raiders fan listed Chaz Schilens in those "unknown players that will have monster seasons" threads.

I do.

Poor Raiders fans....every silver lining turns steel grey and drowns their dreams in a rain of tears.
