Love the move. I wasn't the biggest fan of him when we had him here starting but he is definitely a good backup. He is Familiar with the System and FO and is easily an upgrade over Quinn at backup QB.

So he'll likely be our backup for the season, and at season's end he'll leave the team and we'll get the Bills 7th for him. Laughing

well, I was completely wrong lol. Personally, I don't know that Jackson is any sort of upgrade over even Brady Quinn; I've never been a fan of Jackson. But no doubt he's a good fit with Seattle, already knowing the system and the offense being a little more suited to his actual ability now with Wilson being the starter than it was his first time around.

Wow, pretty funny to think he used to be the captain on this team. It'll be nice to get his services for a year than get that draft pick for him. Really nice signing.

As far as I know, he hasn't actually signed yet.

and there they go again, going after all our castoffs.

I'm not surprised in the least. At least he didn't go green.

Similar playing style to Wilson (although leagues difference in ability) and was clearly highly regarded enough in the locker room to be a captain. Solid pick up.

We made him a better player here than he ever was with you. He's a QB who knows the system and is mobile enough to be a Russell Wilson ultralight in case of emergency.

So the Bills wasted a pick in trading for Jackson even though it seemed likely he would be dropped. Then they wasted another pick by dropping him. Incompetence at its finest.

I think you're playing that up a bit too much. They traded a 7th round pick for him last year and had him on the roster as a backup for that time. They got a good bit of time to evaluate him up close and see what he had.

I hardly think a 7th is too much to pay for an experienced backup QB and insurance against Tyler Thigpen starting.

Pretty much this. He was a competent insurance policy for if Fitzpatrick went down. He didn't dress because Chan knew his wagon was hitched to Fitz and because Thigpen has been his pet project since his KC days.

He was worth giving up a (late) 7th round pick for. I mean what 7th round pick could we have gotten that would have been worth more than a competent back-up QB? The past 6 years, yes, our best player has been a former 7th round pick, but other than him we've whiffed on every single pick we have made past the 1st round. So really it was good value when you look at it.

That's a bit dramatic labelling them "incompetent". He was a insurance policy for us and due to recent upgrades is not needed.

Oh okay...

Is that why you guys traded him to Buffalo for a 7th round pick, and then after a year got cut after not playing at all?

If that's what you call development... Laughing
