Color me shocked that the Dolphins arent signing FB Vonta Leach. They rarely sign players they are "reportedly" interested in (See: Winston)

Ravens' offer on table for Vonta Leach that led to his release: $2 mill w $1 mill incentives that would give him $3 mill he was set to earn

Leach was skeptical (re: incentives) because Ravens' offense under OC Jim Caldwell had evolved into more 1-back, up-tempo.

Lame. We have the money. We still run the ball. Don't know why we don't just let him finish his contract.

Huh... why?

From what I read, the Ravens aren't in cap hell this year and Leach is one of the better FBs in this league... a decent rusher and receiver and a great lead blocker. This doesn't make any sense.

I really don't understand this. I doubt he is asking for an insane amount of money. He'll get a job before camps end.

At least I'm happy about that. I literally lol'd when I saw that name getting drafted... wish him luck (I love players with crazy names).

I had Juszczyk going to the Jets in the 6th or 7th in nearly every mock draft I did. I was very surprised that he went as early as he did.

In before the "Thanks, Joe Flacco" jokes.

I'm surprised by this. Maybe MJD will get his wish and get a solid fullback for him to run behind. (This isn't a shot at the Jaguars. I truly don't know who their current projected starting FB is.) That's just my prediction, though.

I'd love for the Titans to sign Leach. Fits what they want to on offense with the the aggressive running attack. Adds a certain leadership to the team as well. CJ gets another great blocker. An O-Line of Roos-Levitre-Velasco-Warmack-Stewart with Walker and Stevens at TE, Britt and Kevin Walter blocking out wide and Leach blocking for CJ Very Happy Yes Please.

This. You really don't need 2 fullbacks, and as good as Leach is, and he's one of the best in the nfl at what he does, it's a cost vs value type of situation. Fullback can be important, but definitely not critical, so why not get younger and cheaper? Its why the 49ers continually bring in long snappers to challenge brian jennings every year. Why pay jennings over a million a year when you can hopefully bring in some undrafted free agent and pay him the rookie minimum, especially when Jennings does not play any other position. Fortunately, Jennings has been too good at what he does for so long for anyone to beat him out thus far.

I don't think this move is bad, but I don't think it's necessary either. I think the ravens just made a judgment on a cost basis on what the position was worth monetarily. If they think they can get similar production from Juszcyk at a fraction of the cost, then they have to do it; so long as the drop off isn't that great.

I doubt the Giants make a play for him as they don't have a ton of cap room but I do remember we signed him to an offer sheet a few years back when he was a restricted free agent. The Texans chose to match the offer. If Hynoski is more hurt then what's being reported and it looks like he will miss a large part of the season, maybe the Giants will make a minimum type offer. Then again I doubt Leach will still be an FA when it starts to get deeper in training camp.
