11 catches last year for Minnesota, and I don't even know who any of their receivers were other than Harvin.

Never know - Jay liked and trusted him when he was here and that's half the battle. We have only 3 lock roster spots at WR (15, 17 and 80) so if he shows well he certainly has a shot. Presumably Trestman signed off on the signing so we can expect to see him get a shot IMO.

I liked Devin during his previous stint in Chicago, and Jay seemed to have some good chemistry with him as well. Doesn't hurt to give him another shot. I think he'd be a good complimentary receiver to Marshall, Jeffery and co.

They weren't kidding about bringing in competition for the last couple of WR spots.

Aside from the big three (Marshall, Jeffery, Bennett) I think (at least as of today) Joe Anderson makes the roster and the best of the rest take the 5th (and possibly 6th) spots.

I'm still banking on Marquess Wilson.

A better question is "why not"? Now Devin can compete for a #5 spot instead of a #1 spot. Makes a world of difference when your GM and coach aren't incompetent.

Yeesh. No kidding.

Makes you realize how offensively incompetent our previous regime was.

I like this move alot for us...our WR group is VERY thin...and in football, pretty much every player misses at least SOME time, whether it be a half or 1 game

DA gives us some experience and nice size.

For the guy who said he is competing for 5th, who is 4th??

I hope Marques Wilson, Joe Anderson, and Devin Aromashodu are ready to play out of their minds running down return men on special teams because that's going to be significantly more import than catching passes for those guys.

Don't forget about Eric Weems.
