Dude probably was going to get cut if he was not traded. So win win I guess.

I don't think TB O-line coach will get much out of him if Tice could not get anything out of him.

But he did have that knee injury his rookie year wich slowed him down.

Wish him the best in the bay

One of the few Jewish NFL players. If Gabe is just backup for the guard spots and possibly fighting for a job on the right side at guard or tackle, then there's no problem here. It's not like the Bucs are depending on him.

Low risk, high reward. Having said that, I wouldn't hold my breath. Carimi was horrible for the Bears.

A different coach or scheme change could do wonders for him. Not a bad price to pay for a former 1st rounder.

Plus throw in a new knee and he should be just fine.

He was pretty bad at Tackle but still has some potential at Guard...

He's got no lateral movement after his knee injury and his foot speed has always been horrendous. If he's healthy like he says he is maybe he'll turn into something of what the Bears thought they were getting, but I doubt he ever amounts to much.

Both teams win here. Low risk high reward type move. Bears get something for a player they have moved on from.

Even if he turns into a solid backup, its a nice move.

Well he's going to be the 6th Oline most likely since they just gave Dotson a solid contract. Bostad could shape him up again.

Good move by the Bucs. Low risk move by them. Carimi does have potential, whether he makes it there is another story. Only cost them a 6th rd pick, although that's probably the most the Bears should have gotten with all the concerns around him. Good move by both.

And Tim Tebow and Jamarcus Russel were 1st round picks, why don't more teams trade their 1st round picks for 6th round picks?
