http://www.suntimes.com/sports/20644191-419/sources-bears-trade-lineman-gabe-carimi-to-buccaneers.html
Quote: | The Bears traded offensive lineman Gabe Carimi to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, two sources told the Sun-Times on Sunday. It was not immediately known what the Bears received in return for Carimi, a former first-round pick.
A Bears source said there was no deal as 7 p.m. Sunday. But another source said Carimi was set to travel to Tampa Bay on Monday. |
Quote: | The Buccaneers do have a connection to Carimi. Tampa Bay’s offensive line coach Bob Bostad was Carimi’s offensive line coach at Wisconsin. |

We could upgrade the RT position... Hopefully we didn't give up much. Watching da Bears makes me wonder if he's actually an upgrade. |

If I could make a suggestion to the Bucs... please start Carimi at RT week 15 against the Niners. K? Thanx. _________________

SayWhat... | Happens quite a bit actually. Carimi has shown to be pretty terrible but since he was a former 1st rounder, he was a lock to get a second look from some team. Surprised a team traded for him but if he can turn things around with a change of scenery, it's worth it. _________________

Meh, doesn't exactly move the meter. Maybe he can turn things around in a new environment with his old coach. I won't hold my breath. _________________

A sixth is no biggie. If he becomes a decent back up or even a starter, then woohoo. If not, meh. |

Low risk, possible high reward for the Bucs.
Most 6th rounders do nothing. Carimi has been terribad but he still has more upside than any 6th rounder. A good OLine coach could coach him up.
He will never be the great player some expected (I personally didnt care for him coming out), but again...a 6th is nothing. At worst, its like a busted 6th round pick...which most are anyway. _________________

That's how I feel. A sixth? Meh. |

Carimi has been a disaster but that whole Bears O-line was a mess. So he'll have a chance to turn around his career with the Bucs. |

A different coach or scheme change could do wonders for him. Not a bad price to pay for a former 1st rounder. _________________

Like most have said it's a low risk trade. To me we are the best place for him to succeed. We have his college OL coach who helped he get taken in the 1st and we have 2 great players for him to learn how to play in Nicks and Joseph. |
