My preference would be a dynasty league but I understand that 16 teams is quite a bit of work so I'm good with either one ultimately.

I had originally, but I wouldn't mind voting now that we have our official participants. I'm up for whichever.

My preference would be dynasty as well, maybe though something between a keeper and a dynasty so an absolutely loaded team might have to drop someone good for the worst team, so the worst teams don't languish in last place for 2-3 years.

A Dynasty league would be fun, IMO. I like Gnat's suggestion.

I would prefer some type of keeper/dynasty. Keeping only 3-4 players per year is always fun whereas full dynasty leagues can get a bit redundant with the same teams year to year.

Fine with whatever, though.

Agree - its best when you have to be really choosy with your keepers.

Maybe keep one player from each position?

Maybe keep one QB, one RB, one WR and one wildcard?

I like the hybrid keeper/dynasty idea. maybe have a cap on how long you can keep guys? like 3-5 years or something. Will keep drafts/free agency interesting and we also won't have to have 15-17 round drafts every year...

1 QB, 1 RB, 1 WR keeper sounds good to me.

How would we do keeper penalties then? I enjoy the system where you lose a pick in the round where you drafted the player you are choosing to pick. It makes the draft more interesting and the benefits of making great late round selections increase. Example:

In 2012, say I selected Ray Rice in the 1st round and choose him as my RB keeper. In 2013, I lose my 1st round pick but keep Rice. Not a bad trade off but nothing too exciting there.

How about this, though? In 2012, say I drafted Robert Griffin III in the 9th round and choose him as my QB keeper, I keep RGIII and lose a 9th round pick in 2013. Great trade off.

Best for last: say I selected Alfred Morris in the 15th round last year and choose him as my RB keeper, I keep Morris and surrender a 15th round pick in this year's draft. Absolute robbery!

I don't know how feasible it would be, but if we choose to do a handful of keepers, maybe if you choose to keep a player, you lose the pick in the round in which you drafted said player.

Example:
Adrian Peterson - No 1st round in 2014
Eric Decker - No 3rd Round in 2014
Ryan Mathews - No 7th Round in 2014
Cordarelle Patterson - No 11th Round in 2014

etc./you get the idea.

I'm up for keeper settings. I'm still waiting for two owners to respond, after that I we will be able to get started. Until then, lets hear what the other owners think of a keeper league.

Also what do guys think of PPR? I'm not a fan, but a lot of people are.

No PPR for me, I have never understood the appeal. There are 13 other owners in this league though who may like it, so I can be flexible.

I think that in a league this size, you absolutely need to have a PPR component because it allows more players to be valuable.

It allows for more options on the waiver wire. For example, lets say there's a TE who is consistently catching 4-6 balls a game, but never seems to have more than 50 yards in a game. Even if you only award half a point per reception, that's a guy who can become much more valuable.

I also believe in PPR because it reflects the realities of the NFL game. It's a passing league, and only a handful of teams have true workhorse running backs. Everyone else has RB by committee. In a 14 team league, only 4-6 of us will probably get that true workhorse guy, and everyone else will be playing platoon guys. PPR will make WR's and TE's a bit more relevant.

I am one of the worst people to ask about PPR/Dynasty/Keepers because I am a pretty content person lol

I have never played a PPR league so that really doesnt matter to me (I think .5 PPR would be best if that passes)

I like the Keeper of Round idea though. Free Agents acquired during the season would have to be a last round though. I am not sure about 2 years down the road but we can handle that bridge when it comes up (I would think jumping at least 2 rounds would be of benefit).
