Until some more players get cut the Raiders shouldn't sign anyone.
Everyone that's left is either to old or sucks.

Man Sedrick Ellis from the Dorsey and McFadden draft out of USC? Wjat happened with this dude? Is he really that bad that nobody picked him up?

Yes. He's awful.

I remember that draft him and Dorsey were neck and neck as far as who's the top guy and they were both supposed to be the next best pass rushing 3 techs in the league. 12.5 sacks in 5 years though and half coming in one season. He sounds like our typical first round picks lol

That's probably why i wanted him in that draft. It still wouldn't hurt to bring him to camp. I can't say i followed the saints too closely but i'd guess he could provide ok depth. Allen is obviously familiar with him as well.

+1 I also was a big Ellis fan of that draft and think he could have a good chance to beat out McGee for that last depth spot.

McGee costs nothing and is headed to the practice squad anyways (at best).

I saw this earlier. I'm hoping for an OG & receiver.

Who do you think would be available?

Brandon Lloyd is.

Lloyd is one of my favorites still looking for work but I'd also bring Edwards in as a camp body. My real hope is that TE Marcedes Lewis is a salary cap casualty. With all due respect to Dark's opinion on him, Marcedes would be the perfect outlet for a young signal caller needing to build confidence. and Yes, I am referring to Wilson as if it's a fait accompli.

In addition, I have been hoping LG Incognito also hits the bricks.

Do we really know that this soon? I think he would have been drafted higher if it had not been for his off field stuff.

What did McGee do on the field in college??

Regardless, if the best Ellis can do is beat out the last DL on the active roster then what is he really contributing, especially at that price? Imo, it's not realistic and more about bringing in a SoCal fav.

I'm def not as knowledgeable about the intricacies of football as you guys but it was my understanding that they had Ellis playing a lot of nose tackle in their base 4-3 when he's clearly more suited to be a 3technique. I remember when he was at USC, they even had to add extra dumbells to the weight room because he was so strong; hence, why I believe they tried him at the nose. I even remember the Saints jumping the Bengals to take him, which then of course lead to Cincy drafting their own USC bust in Rivers. What Ellis always lacked though as a nose tackle was the bulk and the ability to eat up blockers the way a Vince Wilfork can clog up the middle. Matter of fact, Im pretty sure he was the antithesis of a run clogger since most teams ran right at him haha. A new situation I think can always help, especially since the Saints are transitioning to a 3-4, but I hope that IF he were to come here, he's not meant sub in for Sims, because I think that's a role he'd be set up to fail in. I would like to see him get a chance, although I admittedly am totally biased having seen him play at USC and being dominant. He's quick, strong, and a hard worker. Bringing in that type of body for a team throwing mud at the wall and seeing what sticks can't be a bad thing if it's for a reasonable deal.

He'd bring competition. If i need to remind you the competition for the 4th DT at the moment would be McGee, Johnny Jones, Brandon Bair and Kurt Taufa'asau. That's 4 guys who have never played a game in the NFL.

Competition at what price vs. the expected contributions of the 4th DT, mind you a position usually reserved for developing talent.

Same number and designated run stuffers. thats about it terd was 6'7 and couldn't get low and had trouble getting leverage.

Plus he was lazy. I still remember the game Sands had against SD where he completely dominated their Center.
