Against Denver maybe with Welker inside, but most other teams, not so much. Flowers has played better against #1s then either of the other two at any point in their careers. That would be like playing Bowe at TE because we ain't got anyone else at that position, but have 3 other WRs. If we have to move Flowers inside, and Smith or Robinson is a downgrade from him on the outside, then the fact we let Javi go for our 8th FB is even more ridiculous.

Flowers playing the slot makes sense against maybe 4-5 teams in this league.

You have a valid point, to a point. The outside CB have deep help. Flowers can take the slot out of the game by himself. Like Berry and the jack, Flowers is a slot CB from Central Casting.
