This was posted on the General forum. Its one of the best breakdowns of any player's performance I've ever seen. Every Chiefs fan knows Brandon Flowers doesn't get the credit he deserves. Maybe I've been guilty of the same. This analysis shows how well he compares to other elite CB.

I posted that in the thead we were talking about CB/S tweeners and everyone ignored it... Laughing Laughing

Flowers is the #3 CB in the NFL.

Behind Revis and Sherman? I can buy that.

1. Revis
2. Sherman
3. Flowers
4. Tillman
5. Cromartie

Pretty sure I made a post in that very thread about Flowers being #3. Honestly, it is pretty clear to me that it is Revis, Sherman, Flowers. With Sherman having the potential to leap frog Revis next year.

The fact he does it all being as "small", "slow" and with basically no help up front pressure-wise is truly amazing.

Underrated for sure, at least his peers are noticing and hopefully everybody else will follow soon.

I remember when B-Flow was coming out, Mayock loved him as did Charles Davis, both said if he had a ran a faster 40 time, he woulda been a top 10-15 pick. Charles also said he'd want 11 Brandon Flowers on his team. Just goes to show you measurables aren't everything.

Crazy thing is, people still think he's slow. Even CHIEFS fans (see above.) The guy isn't slow. He ran a slow 40. There is a massive difference. Guy kept in step with Mike Wallace no problem last year. When you add in his technique, his fluidity, and his acceleration, he is effectively faster than most CBs in the NFL.

I said slow In quotation marks because I wasn't serious...

But Flowers has been beat deep before, see Jacoby Ford, I'm just happy we got a HOFer teaching him the technique where that is no longer an issue.

The only issue I've ever had with Flowers is that he tends to get knicked up a lot, and when that happens he's a very different player. He's top 5 or even 3 when fully healthy, but isn't even top 20 when banged up. Getting him help either from better safety play or a better pass rush will make him look as good as Revis. Heck, give him a solid lead to play with and watch out.
