My boss was in Vegas this weekend and apparently Gronk was in the club he was at. I thought he was BS'ing me because he just underwent back surgery but he claims the DJ was announcing it and asking why he wasn't at the hospital.

Guess it's a good sign that surgery went well that he's out and about?

Dude should be barred from clubbing until we win another ring.

I've actually never had an issue with his clubbing (still don't), because he's so good on the field and always in good shape (sans the injuries which are out of his control). I would take 4 forearm surgery, bad back Gronk over Gresham any day of the week...

I have a strange feeling if he was at a club in vegas, it woulda been filmed and put on the news by now.

As long as the chance of setback isnt high, if he is ready that'd be great even if he isnt back up to full strength. The man is without a doubt the most dominant TE in the league when healthy, so at 50% of his normal standard he is still above average.

My concern would be his blocking and physicality off the line, which is what makes him such an effective threat. I think they're better off waiting until week 4 or 5 (if necessary) than rushing him back before he is 100%. Back injuries can be a career killer and even if the chance of setback is fairly low, they should be able to scrape by without him. Worst case scenario, they go 2-2 or 2-3 early on and can get him back around the time the young D will (hopefully) be coming together.

Gotta think he has lost SIGNIFICANT weight since the start of last season.

Kid needs to get back into football shape before he looks at playing time.
