I will believe it when I see him signed somewhere. If he does sign does he get more than league minimum?

Not sure if his talent level in NFL worthy but has a hell of an arm.

Slimming down, wanting to ride the bench and learn. I see some teams interested. Low risk type move.

More than vet minimum? Yes given his agent.

Guy was a lazy fat cow with issues but if he can turn his life around I am rooting for him.

If I was a betting man, I'd bet he doesn't get signed. NFL teams are proving with Tebow that they don't like the circus.

Sounds like he wants to be low key. Not a diva.

Any problems just drop him. Doesn't have the Tebowmania type hype IMO.

Tebow isn't a diva at all imo, but he still brings a circus with him. Fans are gonna be up in arms if their team picks up one of the biggest busts in the draft's history, who's also been out of football for years. Reporters would harass his team mates with stupid questions about him and that would be the kind of distraction I was referring to when I mentioned Tebow.

that, and there is no doubt Russel can throw the ball, while there are many questions about Tebow being able to throw well.

I wasn't comparing their talent, only pointing out that Tebow is a distraction, just as I believe JR would be, and owners seem to not like distractions.

Tebow isn't a diva I agree.

Two separate statements. I don't think he is going to be a diva.

I also don't think he will bring the hype that Tebow brings either. Tebowmania is on a different level and I never understood it. Signing of Russell will bring the understanding he will ride the bench and needs to work on things.

Those that like Tebow think he is an NFL QB for whatever reason.

Well of course they don't like distractions, but if the player helps you win you go get him. Obviously Tebow isn't exactly a guy you "go get" because he sucks, but teams have proven again and again they as long as you strongly help with the W/L column, you could have a media circus 10x what Tebow has and that won't stop them from going out and getting you.

I'd go as far to say that if Tebow had Shaun Hill level talent, he wouldn't be a free agent.

No doubt. I couldn't have screwed the question up worse if I was trying.

Well, I wouldn't sign him period.

But I'd be willing to bet someone will.

This is true. Terrell owens got picked up a couple times past his prime as did big mike williams. Someone will pay him but I dont think it will be what he expects. I think that someones agent is stiring the pot.

I watched a special on him on television not too long ago (maybe two weeks or so), and it was pretty impressive. He went through a lot in his personal life around the time he entered the league, and his head wasn't in the right place. But, some time out of the league helped him improve his life and get the important things in check.

He seemed very humble, and acted as if he was ready to do everything possible to get back on the field. He was working closely with Jeff Garcia and knew that he would have to come a long way. He was well over 300 pounds at the beginning of his journey, and being at 265 now is impressive in comparison.

Would I sign him? For the vet minimum? You bet I would. With the right coaching he'd be a backup/3rd QB behind Stafford and Hill. If he worked out, great. If not, oh well. He'll never see the field anyway (hopefully).
