2004 Scouting Report - Football Scouts Inc.
Name: Anthony Henry
Position: Cornerback
Grade: 69 | Key
Alert: None
Comment:
Henry is a big and fairly physical corner, and he has good raw athleticism. Henry can be physical at times in coverage, and you will see him push receivers out of their routes as a pretty good match up in the red zone. However, he also gives up more than his share of big plays. Henry needs to guess right on a play because you don't see quickness and catch up speed to recover if he makes a mistake. He tends to sit on routes at times, and you wonder a little bit about his instincts even though he still is a young player. Is not great in space, he doesn't have great run skills, and he is a little bit of a high cut guy, which cuts down on his ability to be fluid. Henry is a young player that is good on special teams, he needs to continue to improve and take his game to the next level and the reality is, that there are probably limitations to how good he can get. |

Maybe the Cowboys are signing him as their nickle CB? Would make sense to me.

| Dallas already has a lot of money invested in their secondary with Williams and Newman. I think they were looking for a big, physical corner. Henry is definitely in the second tier of free agents and I expected the Cowboys to do this because they have so much money tied up in Williams and Newman. |

I really thought the cowboys would do something big at CB. I think they took the best guy for the $$ with Henry. I was looking him up this morning and I read some where that a lot of his 10 pics from that amazing year came in the nickle. I wonder if we still may persue Lucas and look to make Henry a FS????
If that is not the case, I wonder if the signing of Henry displays that the big FA money might go elsewhere like in LB or FS. With Henry and Ferguson in place it would nice to see a guard, ILB, or a FS start talking to the boys by the end of the week. SET YOUR PRICE JERRY AND GET OUT THERE. |

| Where did you read that they signed Henry ? I saw on pro sports daily on a NJ star ledger report that they indeed signed Ferguson, but I didn't see anything about Henry. |

| The Browns employed the same defensive scheme as the Cowboys. Dave Campo was their defensive coordinator and I think that we are getting a player a little bit better than Mario Edwards. I like this signing because we are getting a solid corner and still giving the younger guys the opportunity to compete. I thought Reeves played well late down the stretch. |
