Original report :
Quote:
Bucs LT Donald Penn has reportedly failed to meet "most" of the weight clauses in the six-year, $41.7 million contract he signed in 2010.
Penn has made 92 straight starts and graded out positively in Pro Football Focus' 2012 pass- and run-blocking ratings, but has the "occasional lazy streak" and sometimes "drives management crazy." Penn turned 30 in April. While his 2013 roster spot is obviously safe, Penn's 2014 salary jumps to a non-guaranteed $6.4 million in 2014. He can't afford to let his on-field performance slip.

Penn's reply:
Quote:
@DPENN70: @ProFootballTalk 330 right now in the best shape I been in in a long time stop reporting [inappropriate/removed] I made all my weigh in last yr n this yr

I read this earlier.

Eh, not concerned. Penn has been very solid over the years.

Depending on how Freeman does this year and whether he needs a new contract or not could change the teams plans with Penn long term.

Dude this is nothing but bs. A lot of th staff and management love his personality and locker room character. He's been a top 10-12 lt. Ask Jared Allen how good he is. Solid LTs are hard too find and he's a good one. Just sucks with his contract situation he may be a cap cut next year.

Seems like PewterReport really screwed up on this one. They have since updated their report because Penn met his weight clauses last year.

Like deuces said though, this is much ado about nothing. Penn has been very durable and he stepped up as a leader when Joseph went down. Eventually his contract will have to be looked at, but for now he is safe.

If there's one guy on the roster that im never worried about?? Donald Penn would be that guy.

Huh? He's in the best shape of his career. He's constantly tweeting pics with his personal trainer.

We've got more worries then Penn's non-existence weight issue
