With respect V, not sure if I agree with you about Hunt.

None of us knows how these young guys will play under the spotlight, but I think his athletics background in throwing, is all about leverage.

Looking at his film, he plays 'straight-linish' a lot, using his raw power to bull rush, but in the NFL of course, he's going up against bigger, more powerful guys. He has got to learn to bend his knees more to get that 6-8 frame lower, but Zim and Hayes will coach him up. He reminds me a lot of a raw JJ Watt.

I think he makes the 45 gameday roster, if no more than a ST's player initially, assuming everyone stays healthy. Looks like 4 x DT's, 5 x DE's this year IMO.

I hope this year, we might see 4 x DE's lining up on 3rd down plays like the Giants did a few years ago, (with Harrison @ SLB too !). Imagine trying to block that lot !

I doubt we see Hunt much. He is so raw and will not be one of the main 4-5 DEs this season especially with guys like Harrison and Joiner. I see Harrison lining up at DE before Hunt this season. He might dres for a few games, but I doubt we see him much

GET IT DONE: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap1000000206910/article/geno-atkins-expected-to-land-lucrative-extension-from-bengals?campaign=Twitter_atl

Quote:
The Bengals started dialogue with Atkins' agent in January, and the team is expected to prioritize an extension for its best player before the start of the 2013 season.

Also...

Stats can certainly illuminate, though. Analytics website Pro Football Focus credited Atkins with 78 quarterback disruptions (sacks + hits + hurries) last season, shattering the record for a defensive tackle since grading for every player commenced in 2008. The well-rounded Atkins also topped all interior linemen with 46 defensive "stops" in the run game, 16 more than second-place Vince Wilfork.

If this deal doesn't meet or surpass 10 mil/year, i will be shocked.

55 over 5 is my prediction. And that might be a bargain.

That would be a bargain. I'll guess 6 years, $75 million for GenoSacks

The Bengals opened their fifth voluntary practice (OTA) of the spring to the media Wednesday and it didn't look much different than the first one last week with no Andre Smith at right tackle and cornerback Adam Jones on the sidelines with what is believed to be a strained calf.

Fatty gets his money and doesn't show up? Or is there more to it?

Getting Geno done should be relatively easy.

Anyone want to start an over/under on what we give AJ ?

Quote:
But for the moment, the trade two years ago that sent Bengals all-time leading receiver Chad Johnson to the Patriots for two players to be named not Ocho looks pretty good. The 2012 fifth-rounder turned out to be Cal's Marvin Jones, a leading candidate to be the second or third receiver after a rookie season he had as many TDs (one) and three more catches (18 ) than Johnson had in his final season. And Hamilton is the 2013 sixth-rounder Bengals president Mike Brown negotiated from Patriots head coach Bill Belichick.

So...

I think I've made my peace with Robert Geathers. While I still think he should be Dunlap's backup and not see the field much, I'm OK with him still being on the team. He's a good mentor/leader and I like the chemistry of our team right now...
