Quote:
Browns agreed to terms with No. 175 overall pick S Jamoris Slaughter on a four-year contract.
Slaughter missed his entire senior year with a torn Achilles' tendon, and is questionable for training camp. Although the Browns have a hole at free safety, Slaughter should be a strict special teamer as a rookie.

If he's healthy, there's no reason why he won't get a chance at the starting FS job.

Competitions so far consists of Tashaun Gipson and Johnson Bademosi, with Gipson being the man to beat (and rightly so).

Moving on from Hagg means they either have faith in the young pups they have, or possibly that they're going to be bringing a veteran in.

If he's healthy, I like what Horton can use him for.

Slaughter has been given full medical clearance and will be a full participant at training camp.

Good. The more competition we have in the secondary, the better. Still going to be Tashaun's job, though.

This is good news. In a way, the guy is a "tweener" of sorts. Everything I have read, though, tells me that Horton doesn't feel constrained by notions of "prototypical" this or that in his players. Seems to think more in terms of them being pieces in a constantly changing puzzle, which I like!
