I'm pretty sure that Hagg was a genie in a bottle. Therein lies the problem. You've got to rub him he right way.

Hagg never was anything more than a Heckert attempt to catch lightning in a bottle. He was a dud.

isnt that what a 7th rounder ever is.........

Not necessarily.

Personally I like the approach of Banner/Lombardi/Whoever of taking guys who dominated at smaller schools vs. guys who didn't exactly shine at bigger ones.

Let's wait and see before answering that question, yes?

wow

"wow" what?

Hagg never was lightning...we have two guys who at least were, albeit at a lower level.

it was more of a "wow" if i keep going i'll break my personal vow to be less sarcastic and mean over the internet so ill leave it at wow

except for the fact that his position coach said that hagg was the best player in that nebraska secondary (not necessarily prospect though)

love that you're hating on irrelevant 7th round selections. shows just how ridiculous you are.

dont see you complaining about billy winn in the 6th either

My bad? Thought this thread was about Hagg.

If you want to catch lightning in a bottle, best to start with lightning.

My bad, I thought you brought up late round drafting philosophies

I think its way to early to describe the drafting philosophy of Banner/Lombardi based upon one year. Especially since we drafted a big school guy who didnt shine right before the two small school guys who did

One guy already got arrested.

Lombardi just can't find lightning in a bottle

Rhodes could wear pants with the butt cut out for all I care, If he plays like he did last year and previously, we need that. If Slaughter has to play ANY significant snaps this year, we are toast.

Ill say this again doesn't it strike anyone as being odd that FS is one of our biggest needs Rhodes is available and his DC last year is now our DC to me that says something about Rhodes that he hasn't even been brought in

Probably.

Or they really like Gibson's potential.

This guy has some serious personal issues and it has nothing to do with drugs, PEDs, or domestic stuff, well actually you probably could say its domestic. My speculation is that Horton brought the idea to Banner and Banner didn't want anything to do with him and his issues

ok ill buy that as a possible scenerio but still does not explain that he has not been brought in or signed by anyone else either. there is a league wide belief the guy really just does not care that much about football

The kid from Wyoming really came on late last year. All indications are that he's taken the next step from UDFA to starting NFL FS, or something would have been done. Anything would have been done. Except all they've done is get rid of Free Safeties.
