Seems like an odd time to release someone.
Why not wait a bit and see if the kid can show anything in camp? _________________ First Ballot Cleveland Browns Forum Hall of Fame Inductee. |

Hmm. This makes no sense. Perhaps there is more to the story.
Safety is arguably our weakest position, and we cut one of the few guys with NFL experience. That's like a starving man throwing away a cracker. _________________ Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.

Well
This is kind of odd, I hope Reg is right and we finally sign Rhodes. |

Incredibly odd given our current status in the secondary.
In fairness though Hagg was very unproductive for us last year. The fact that fact that everyone is calling for Gipson and Bademosi to get a shot speaks volumes about that.
We need bodies back there for camp though if for nothing else, which makes me think that we bringing someone else in. The obvious choice is Rhodes, but maybe someone else who might be a better fit at FS is floating around still looking for a job. . . Charles Woodson? I mean he is meeting with the Raiders, we're better than the Raiders right? Plus he is from Fremont Ross High School an hour or so West of Cleveland.
This move has me curious. |

Does all the Kerry Rhodes is gay rumors stop a team like Cleveland from signing him though?
A lot of distraction for a team that is just trying to contend. |

We really can't talk about this but I'd sat it has more to do with Rhodes doesn't really love football rumors _________________ 2013 Joe Blackburn HOF Award Recipient |

There are two things here I don't understand:
1. Someone's sexual orientation affecting a business decision
2. CLEVELAND'S A CONTENDER!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! _________________

1. It shouldn't. However, we would be naive to think that it doesn't in a business like the NFL.
2. No, trying though. |

i can careless if he loves football or not. he still a very good player, at a position we really need. and we only need him for one year. Curtis Martin said he didn't like football and he had a HOF career |

he's took it pretty serious his whole career. whats it matter as long as he preforms on the field. who cares what he does in his personal life. a lot of guys go out and party and have fun. it means nothing |

No debating that, but by cutting him now you have no idea if, and how much, he's manage to improve himself over the offseason (if at all).
I'm not saying the guy was a world beater, but there is no upside to releasing him now as opposed to 'kicking the tires' in training camp. _________________ First Ballot Cleveland Browns Forum Hall of Fame Inductee. |
