http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown-corner/michael-vick-10-nfl-veteran-had-taught-chip-163607560.html

Vick wrote:
“Chip told me how to run with the football the other day,” Vick said. “He taught me how to run with the football and how to carry the football, and I think it’s something that you just have to work on.”

The PhillyMag.com writer seemed to think Vick was being facetious, or putting him on, but he wrote that Vick answered a follow-up question earnestly:

Vick wrote:
“The other day, I broke out in the pocket, and the first thing Chip told me was to tuck the football,” Vick said. “So I showed him how I was running with it, and he looked at it and he knocked the ball right out of my hands. And he was like, ‘Hold it like this.’ And what he told me felt comfortable. I had a tighter grip on the football. That should secure that problem as long as I work on it. Like I said, you’re always a work in progress, and even when you think you know it all, sometimes you don’t. The people who feel like they know everything, they don’t.”

I for one am skeptical as he still hasn't learned how to slide and that was a big deal a year or so ago. You guys buying into Vick learning how to hold the ball correctly at 32 and having a positive impact on the Eagles this season?

Well the topic still stands on whether or not you think that Vick can improve as a player and help this team at 32. It has been kind of stale around here and why not stir up the old QB controversy for some chat.

Yeah this was immediately after he had a near heart-attack when asked if he can read defenses or not. Apparently that's easier than holding a ball.

Vick's fumbling problems won't go away. It's not really a matter of holding it "the right way" for him. It's the fact that when he starts to run, he becomes a running back, but he doesn't have the ball carrying abilities of a running back. He isn't used to hanging onto a ball being tackled by linebackers. He isn't strong enough to protect the ball when three defenders are prying the ball away from him.

I really don't think it's going to go away.

I feel the same way. He has something like 32 fumbles in his last 35 games. This old dog won't be learning any new tricks, IMO.

I wish Dorenbos could just make Vick disappear from our team forever. That's the only new trick I want to see involving Vick.

Why? Shady doesn't have a fumble issue.

He didn't before last season but he sure as hell did in 2012. I blame that on Shady being the good teammate trying to make Bryce feel comfortable and not alienating him as the only RB with butter fingers.

The way he holds it is prone to fumbling, as shown by last year.

1 year compared to the 3 before. If it happens again this year I'll be worried.

Just because the numbers don't show it, doesn't mean there isn't a problem. He routinely holds the ball away from his body. Luckily for Shady, he's one of the most elusive backs in the league and can get away with it... for now.

You ever think defenders might take more risks to attack the ball, because it could work and Shady will probably burn him regardless

Seriously. No one else ever told him the proper way to carry a ball? I mean, Andy may not have been the best coach to ever coach the game, but I'm sure he tried to coach Vick on the proper way to run with the ball. This isn't some new technology that Chip has come up with...
