He's under contract with SF, but maybe a trade for him? Interesting news none the less in a dead time for the forum. I rushed the post.

I'm curious as to see if we acquire him, if he's a FS or a CB, or a nickel back STAR type

Probably just something to do with the draft movie. That's just my prediction

My guess as well, or like Ruiter said, he held a camp here last year and likely will again. But really who knows at this point

That'd be a very nice addition.

Yeah I would say so, but I think he has some speed to him as well (would have to look it up). I know he got exposed in the super bowl which calls into question his coverage ability, he's more of a knock your head off guy like Ward

BUT every sign points to Horton being super aggressive with blitzes, they may want 2 hard hitters in the middle of the field to take advantage of the quick passes QB's will be forced to make

What took so long?

Thinking this is another "value" thing.

Probably a camp or charity type thing. The last thing I would expect would be him becoming a Brown.

Most players who are traded have no idea that they're being traded or where they're going until the deal has been made.

For one, he's under contract with San Fran through this year.

For two, hardly a "value" thing since his cap hit is $4.93M. Even if we only owed his $3.8M base salary, he'd still be the 8th highest paid player on this team. We could certainly afford it, but it does not quite constitute "value".

I meant "value" in terms of waiting and working it out such that he doesn't cost us much. That seems to be one of the ways Banner and Lombardi operate.

Except in the cases of Paul Kruger and Desmond Bryant, of course.

Either way, Whitner's odds of being a Brown are as close to zero as odds can get.
