I knew someone was going to come in here thinking that he didn't want to be on the Jets.... Um hes the one that signed the contract in the first place...

This has to do with health, his knee isn't holding up.

Just becuse you sign a contract with a team does not mean you fall in love with that place.

I know he is pretty banged up and the main reason for his retirment but still, why be on a team that has showen you that your not in therw plans by drafting Geno.

Waaa waaaa waaaaaa, I said something that you do not agree with about your team.

He hasn't played in the NFL in 2 years, 35 years old, and on a 1-year deal. Why would he be in our future plans?

No, basically you don't know how to read and just making stuff up. Yeah I am sure Garrard really thought he was in the Jets long term plans with his 1 yr 1 mil contract... He didn't care that the Jets drafted a QB, he has said all along hes fine with mentoring a young QB and being a backup.

Grow up

I guess his knee was doing fine then, but now in practices hes having setbacks. Its not like the Jets gave him much of a contract.

The thing about physicals is that they aren't done on a set scale of pass or fail. Teams will sometimes sign guys knowing about certain injuries that could have caused them to "fail" the physical with hope that it heals up and the players gets over it.

It's basically their choice.

The Jets went out and got a veteran QB in this league who has seen some success David Garrard who is 35 Years old and had known injury issues. I guarantee he didnt feel cheated that the Jets drafted Geno he was brought in as a guy to compete as well as to groom a QB of the future.

GOD people just love to bash on the Jets for no reason.

Read and you;ll see he clearly retired due to injury ...

A 35 year old QB who has not played since 2010 and signed a 1 year deal would be upset that the team he signed with drafted a qb in the 2nd round?

...Umm, what?

Lol you jet fans are funny. What am I soposed to read. The little twitter blurbs that said he's leaving the team... nothing else was posted on him saying he was leaving becuse of his knee before i posted.... oh right im sooosed to be a professional interneter while im in the middle of a field seeding.... right gotcha.

Sorry for having a flipping opinion.

Nothing like trying to bash someone for stating there opinion on a discussion bored and then telling them to grow up.... hahahahahahahHHHa I needed a good laugh.

Never said future plans.... said plans. But I guess I have to map every little thing out for some of you. Maybee you should brush up on your own reading skills mang.

Garrad best moment as a QB was that overtime run against the Steelers in the Wild Card playoffs. I can still hear Al Michaels yelling when he broke that tackle.

Well, if he is planning to retire, good for him. He had a good career, he's a good dude by all accounts, and he knows the limits of his body.

I figured Sanchez would start the season anyhow, so this sorta confirms it.
