QB David Garrard told 2 players he no longer plans to be with the #Jets, per sources. Nothing official from team. Unclear if cut/retired

This has major ramifications for Geno Smith, Mark Sanchez and Greg McElroy. Again, nothing official. But this is what Garrard told players

Confirming what @RapSheet reported: Garrard has told players he's done. Again, not being cut. So must be retirement or asking for a release.

If true, it's probably due to health. Guess this means it really is Geno vs Sanchez, though it was really just those two all along. Shame, I think he could have helped Geno out in a mentor type role.

Damn. Likely means we'll see more Mark Sanchez than we want to this year.

I don't blame him at all for wanting to leave the Jets right now.

Thats a shame. Garrard was never going to be a great quarterback, but he was pretty solid, and i think the best chance for the Jets to win some additional games this year. He had more left in the tank and could still play at a moderately high level if not for the knee I think. He looked really good with Miami last year before he had to quit.

I knew someone was going to come in here thinking that he didn't want to be on the Jets.... Um hes the one that signed the contract in the first place...

This has to do with health, his knee isn't holding up.

It's really too bad. David Garrard is a really good person and a true professional.

Knee.

I hope he sticks around in some capacity as a coach. He can be a really good mentor for Geno.

Just becuse you sign a contract with a team does not mean you fall in love with that place.

I know he is pretty banged up and the main reason for his retirment but still, why be on a team that has showen you that your not in therw plans by drafting Geno.

Waaa waaaa waaaaaa, I said something that you do not agree with about your team.
