This is the first mock I've done in about a year or two, trying to get back into the swing of things. Don't complain about the slot your team is picking at, that's not why I'm here. If you don't like your team's selection, please state why and also provide who a better option would be, along with a position of bigger need. All feedback is appreciated.

I apologize for the dullness with this mock, I just wanted to see the feedback I received this early in the 2014 draft process. My next installment will include explanations, team logos and pictures.

Meh, underwhelming pick. Haven't watched a ton of Matthews though, so whatever.

Seattle would never make that trade. The team also has an excess of quality/potentially quality D-Lineman.

If Arizona is picking that high, slecting a tackle in what is shaping up as a strong QB draft is not the smart way to go here.

Either that or they would likely be one of the first teams to try and jump on the Fales slide and trade back up from #36 into the early 20's to grab Fales.

That was my bad. When looking through Seattle's depth chart and potential free agents in 2014, DT appeared to be the biggest need for them. However, it totally blew my mind that they spent two picks on DTs in this past draft. (Hill & Williams) I had them trade up because Jernigan is listed very high on my big board, so it was good value for them at that slot. What position would be preferred?

I definitely see what you're saying. I gave them an OT because they missed out on the "big 3" in 2013, so I figured they'd snag one in 2014 and take a QB early in the 2nd round.

Other than the Seahawks-Rams trade which includes a player, the Chargers-Jets & Giants-Raiders trades match up pretty fairly; according to the pick value chart.

I like Shazier, but not sure if the team values LBs enough to go there in round one.

That's something I thought about, but it's not like they haven't taken an LB in the first round in recent years. (Rivers) Plus, I think teams sometimes like to go with an in-state kid.

If Shazier isn't the pick, who would you prefer? I know Center is a need, but I don't think any are worth taking in the first round. Perhaps one of those big WR's to make the offense even more explosive? (Brandon Coleman, 6'6''-220; Mike Evans, 6'5''-225)

Depends on who you ask. Cook has played well in the past, and I think his performance when he came back last year is more due to his injury and not having played with either guard before.

Free agency could change things, but if we retain our own key guys, a bell cow back might be an option, or an outside WR. CB could also be a possibility as all of our proven CBs will be 29 or older after the season.

If we are picking that high, it is because of the QB position. Give us Fales

I could see DE depending on whom the Vikings keep around from their trio of good DE's, hopefully they resign two of them so they can address more pressing needs like ILB.
