Its early, not even the roster is set yet. However, gazing into your crystal ball, who is going to be our weak link in 2013? Who is going to be the one guy you blame for all that is wrong with the team this year? In simplest terms, who will be your Mark Sanchez?

If I had to guess today, it would be Jonathan Martin or the running game.

I am excited to see what Lamar Miller can do and to a smaller degree Gillislee as well but with that said I still have concerns about the running game.

I think the candidate would have to be someone that is a difference maker. Someone like an OG, or RB can't really be the Achilles heal of a team unless they are truly terrible. The obvious candidates here are...

1. Ryan Tannehill - If he has a Sophomore slump, then this team is going nowhere fast.

2. Martin - If he does a horrible job protecting RT's blindside, then it will be noticed and he could take the blame if RT gets sacked and hurried a lot from his side.

3. Defensively I think they are good enough to overcome any individual bad performance. Even if someone like Jordan turns out to be terrible, or Jamar Taylor can't even make it as a nickle CB, we should still be in good position to be solid at least. I would say Jones could get exposed, but I don't think he will. If injuries to Grimes and Marshall prove to have really slowed them down and the rookies don't step up, then our CB situation would be bleak. The new LB core as a whole has some things to prove, but again, I don't think that's any one individual that can screw that up.

4. Since he was the prize of our free agency, then you could say Wallace has to have a solid season or he will get some backlash. He is the highest paid player on the team so it's time to produce like it!!

John Jerry. Unless Louis starts the season. I read today he is cleared for running and should be ready to participate fully in minicamp. Maybe he ends up being our week 1 starting RG.

Weak Link

Offensive Line...it is less the Weak Link and more of the idea that they have to prove they are capable. They have three very good lineman and 2 who started every game last season, yet performed poorly.

It would be easy to pick the QB. A team goes as the QB goes and second year slumps do happen.

We all have concerns about our new LT. Several have said that should have been the number one priority. If he should get our QB knocked out for the year that would be a horrible.

I'm going to step out there and say the coaching staff. Year one many were happy with the Tuna and thought the team had turned the corner and was becoming meaningfull again. A couple/few years later we saw we had followed an outdated plan, the team had been set back several years, requiring yet another rebuild. I say that if we feel the Philbin and Ireland have set a plan in motion that will pan out all is well.....even if our present QB doesn't.

In short, lets not foget who the real leaders/generals of the team are. If we still don't have the right ones we aren't going to get where we want to go.

Nolan Carroll will most likely be that guy for me.

I think coaching could be the weak link as well, although what I've seen of Philbin in year one was mostly positive. Then again, Parcells, Ireland and Sparano had the Dolphins in the playoffs year one and everyone was wanting to swap spit in the shower with those guys. They had a plan too, it just turned out to not be a very good plan.

One thing that no one can legitimately argue is that this regime has had AMPLE resources and draft picks to make a solid turn around. Teams with far less resources have turned worst clubs around with less. We should EXPECT results this year. Not next.

Well Nolan Carroll was our number 2 late in the year and now possibly could go all the way to our number 4 maybe more then likely 5 if everybody is healthy and Patterson doesn't get released

I can see the most likely being Misi or RG.

I think Thomas, Misi and Clemons will the whipping boys though. Clemons gets it a little unwarranted though.

I've liked Clemons, solid yet unspectacular. It's only a problem IMO if neither of your safeties are playmakers, but Jones is.

FO disagrees with me though, given that one year deal Clemons signed.
