Interesting pickup. You'd have to think he'd be picked up to play safety.

Really doubt Alex Smith would get KC to 2nd place.

Alex Smith + Andy Reid + better health = KC 2nd in our division.

It is to be honest.

Last year was meant to be a dry run, we ended up playing even better than most expected, but at the start of the year there was a lot of predictions saying 10-6 and maybe not even a playoff team - look at my signature.

From the moment Peyton Manning signed on the dotted line the end goal was always to go conquer the house that his annoying little brother built.

Pookie's prediction isn't really indicative of most people's thoughts, to be fair. We could have every top player at every top position and he'd still say we'd miss Laughing but you are right, we did have a lot of people saying that the Broncos wouldn't contend whatsoever,

Short term vet signings are sorta SB or bust, but the good part is that we're setting ourselves up to be in good shape with young players going forward so we can contend for awhile. That's important too.

I'd be fine with the Woodson signing, BTW. He'd be Leonhard last year, and that's fine by me.

No to Urlacher. I like him, but we need to test the waters with the young guys.

Woodson is only 1,000x better than Leonhard. Sorry, but Leonhard doesn't have a Heisman or a DOPY award; Woodson has both!

The only comparison that I can see is an Urlacker to Brooking comparison. However, again, Urlacker would be a lot better, because he can cover, a little bit.

Not sure I agree with this. Woodson IMO is a lot better than Leonhard. I can see him starting. Same goes for Urlacher. He may be old, but he is better than Brooking.

Pookie? Is that what you call him...

Not sure I really like either of these moves. Woodson I could get on board with as a third safety in our big nickel, like Leonard last year but I really don't see a place for Urlacher.

While Woodson is on the team's radar, the #Broncos are not considering free agent linebacker Brian Urlacher, per multiple reports.

Here ya go, @FFB_Hitman88. RT @MikeKlis #Broncos have yet to express interest in Brian Urlacher. Have not contacted his agent.

I think that Urlacher was the one interested, not the Broncos.

The Denver Post reports the Broncos are not interested in free agent Brian Urlacher "period."

Signing Woodson makes too much sense. It probably should have happened already. I wonder if/when he signs with the Broncos if he just slaps Hillman around for his jersey number, or would Woodson pay him for it? I would probably just slap him around a bit.

He wore number a different number for each team he played with. I don't think he cares that much

NCAA
Michigan #2
NFL (2 numbers required for DBs)
Oakland #24
Green Bay #21

Also in talks with Brian Urlacher.

I chased this rumor down to a gossipy column in the Chicago Sun-Times:
http://www.suntimes.com/sports/20091027-419/sneed-rahms-plan-for-depaul-arena-not-good-news-for-reinsdorf-wirtz.html

To me it reads like a columnist just repeating the planted story of an agent who is trying to gin up a job for Urlacher. The writing cites third-hand sources who "hear".

Urlacher would be a poor signing for the Broncos.

I wouldn't say a poor signing. It would be risky. I mean, what if turns out to be 80% of what he used to be. To me, that is good backup material.
