Yeah, I don't see him ending up anywhere unless a team ends up with a need after injury. If teams thought he was still a capable starter it would only make sense that he would already be on a roster somewhere.

Quote:
Coach Leslie Frazier confirmed the Vikings have no interest in free agent MLB Brian Urlacher right now.

The Vikings would rather roll with Erin Henderson and a bunch of unheralded youngsters than bring in the 35-year-old Urlacher. "Brian has been a great player in our league for a long, long time," Frazier said. "He was a thorn in our side for many years. At this point we want to look at the guys on our roster, give them a chance to compete for the middle linebacker position then we'll see where it takes us."

Urlacher just needs to hang them up and call it a career...I love the guy, and I've had a great time watching him play but it's time to move on.

You would think that the complete lack of interest in his services would be pretty telling to him by now.

One would certainly think so. However, things like this just go to further what I have thought about him as a person (not as a player) all along. He may get lucky and find a spot, but this is about like asking 32 girls to the dance and being told, "no." When one gets stood up, she calls back and says she would love to go. Rolling Eyes

He also probably hasn't come to grips with the idea that its over. Some players get to choose when they hang it up others are forced I assume he isn't ready to accept that reality yet.

I gotta agree, Urlacher needs to retire. He was a beast when he played for us, and was the leader of our D for a decade. But he needs to call it quits. He's been injured the last couple years, he's a shell of his former self.
