Quote:
I'm told by a league source Felix Jones' deal is minimum-salary-benefit, so $715,000 base plus likely $65,000 RB and $555,000 cap hit.

Quote:
Felix Jones gets $32.5 K guaranteed (SB) in his 1-year deal with the Eagles, per source. $32.5 K more if he's on the 46-man roster game 1

I did really like him at one point a few years back. We seem to have a lot of RB's now... did we need another?

Shady, BB, Polk, Jones, Maysonet?.....

I just got back from the future... McCoy, Brown, Jones make the roster. Polk ends up on PS.

I'm cool with more competition.

I thought he was on the up and up following the 2010 season.

He will certainly push the other guys for the 3rd RB spot.

He also has been a fairly decent kick returner in the past, so there's some value on special teams there as well.

Sounds like he has higher value or potential on special teams than at RB right now

^KR is probably the only way he makes this roster and/or injury during camp.

I have no problems with adding Jones for what is guaranteed to be a low risk contract, in order to offer competition at RB#3 and KR.

I think the 3rd running back will actually be used in Chip's system. Gone are the days where the 3rd RB was just a reserved roster spot doing nothing. You have 53 players, beat your opponent with 53 players (exaggeration).

Jones is perfect for the third spot. Low priced veteran.

I like the signing a lot. At the very least he helps us out in the return game

http://youtu.be/VAoTKPsPR3A

He would always gash us for big plays. low risk, high reward.

Worth brining in on a 1-year deal. Can always cut him if he stinks.
