We also signed Lance Lewis to a deal, which I'm pretty pumped about.

Man was apparently beasting last year before his injury.

I did hear that they expect Thompson to be healthy enough to participate in training camp, so that's good.

He told me earlier this month that he's already running and cutting but won't participate fully in OTAs and minicamp. He does, however, expect to receive medical clearance before training camp. It’s also important to point out that Thompson and Helu are likely fighting for one job. The guy who makes the 53 could ultimately come down to which one is healthiest.

Looks that way! Cool Assuming we keep three backs like we did last year, what do you think the chances of going with Morris and the two rookies are?

I'd feel very comfortable with Morris and any 2 of Helu Jr, Thompson or Jamison.

And if one or more of those go down, we still have Royster and Keiland to fall back on, who know the system well. I think Tristan Davis' days are numbered, his main asset seems to be as a returner and I think we'll be fine there.

“I’m sprinting, doing a little cutting and moving around,” he said. “I’ll probably be able to do a little bit [during OTAs], but for the most part they’re not going to release me and just let me run wild until training camp.

“No question about it, I’ll be back [for training camp].”

Thompson will have an opportunity to contribute, and the competition for playing time is something he looks forward to above all else.

“Honestly, that’s the fun part. Competing against the guys makes me play even harder,” he said with a grin. “At the same time, we’re getting each other better, so I’m glad I’m here being able to compete with guys.

“Alfred [Morris] had 1,600 yards rushing, so he’s the top guy, but I’ll be able to come in and hopefully help ease the pressure off of him a little bit [and] just continue to compete.”

Well the final rookie signed! Jordan reed signed today...

http://m.washingtonpost.com/blogs/football-insider/wp/2013/05/24/jordan-reed-signs/

Quote:
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Reed's contract will be similar to that of last year's 85th overall pick - Detroit cornerback Dwight Bentley, who signed a four-year, $2.7 million deal with a signing bonus of around $549,000.

Reed was Washington's only remaining unsigned draft pick.
