I figure this needs to be posted here.
With Maynard hurt Sauer caught 8 passes in Super Bowl Three. Helping the Jets win their only Super Bowl appearance.

I saw someone in an Urlacher jersey and a Dolphins hat today.

Was it Colin Kaepernick?

It's hard to compare him with today's wide receivers but back then
I remember liking him more than Maynard. Naturally it's a long time ago and my memories are fuzzie but Maynard was the big play guy while Sauer moved the chains. Interesting stat is that his 75 receptions in 67 were the most in a 12 year period between 66 and 77.

I do remember being surprised when he walked away although I didn't realize he was only 27

RIP. He really stepped up for us in Super Bowl III, and if he didn't tire of the NFL life he could have played even longer. Def thankful for his contributions to our team and thoughts go out to his family and friends.
