Lester will have to show he can tackle to make the team. He looks like a great ball hawk sometimes but also looks bad a good bit.

Lets hold off on this with him starting till we see him vs some NFl players and he makes the team.

Sure, but it will be easy to discuss once we know how good he is!! This is offseason conjecture---

I am basing it on skill sets. Lester has coachable problems, where the others have more physical limitations. Still, smart money says Mitchell or Campbell, but Lester is better than advertised, IMO>

I believe Lester will win the battle over Campbell and may even beat out Mitchell.

Mitchell will thrive as the 3rd safety that can cover TE, make solid hits, and come in only on certain packages.

I will be rooting for Campbell, but Lester has a chance to become the starter.

We just need some average play at the other safety position. Anything is better than Haruki.

Lester is pretty physically limited himself. He's not athletic enough in coverage or bit enough in run support. At least we know Mitchell can play near the line well in the NFL. All we know about Lester is that nobody drafted him.

It's going to be interesting to see how Thomas/Dockery/Norman shake out. I favor their youth over Florence.

The secondary played alright for what they were last year but in order for the defense to take another step the corners and safeties need to make plays. Munnerlyn is probably the biggest playmaker at this point. The DL should provide plenty of opportunities.

Campbell also got a nod in a Gettleman interview, if I'm not mistaken. He's probably going to be a developing backup.

Camp yesterday the starters were Godfrey, Campbell, Thomas, Norman, and nickel Moore. Captain out hurt at moment.

Rivera said only locked starter is Godfrey at this time.

Heard good things about Mitchell, Campbell and Thomas from Steve Smith.

I'm surprised Florence wasn't a #1.
Really hoping to see Norman flourish this year.
