Are clearly the top 3. Any other names would be retarded. The 4th is really hard though.

People get [inappropriate/removed] when you say " Retarded", anyhow, Tex Schram or Bob Lilly would not be a retarded choice Smile

In fact, not putting Bob Lilly up there would be inexcusable, and I didn't even get to see the man play.

My bad. Poor word choice.

But I think Bob Lilly would be the 4th.

After thinking about it more ( and yes Bob Lily would be 4th) Landry, Schram, Staubach and Lily. Landry and Schram were the perfect GM/Coach pairing. Bob Lily was 1st ever player drafted , he has to be on Smile. Staubach is a no brainer. Captain Comeback, Almost Tebow-like the way he carried himself ( plz, I'm not comparing football skills between these 2). Yes, Aikman and Smith are great as well but mine Mount Rushmore would be the 4 who paved the way for the Aikman, Smith, Irving , Dorsett and many more. Good discussion Smile

My thinking is emmitt has to be there. You can't tell the story of the Dallas Cowboys without their best player during 3 of their 5 rings, not to mention the all time leading rusher in yards and tds. Landry and Lilly are no brainers to me. Schramm was perhaps the most important figure but his job is to go largely unnoticed while succeeding. For me, I have to go with Staubach.

I nominated a lot of guys and it was fun, but when it comes down to four for Mt Rushmore, I think you have to go with:

Tom Landry - To many he was and will always be the face of the franchise.

Bob Lily - How can "Mr. Cowboy" not be on Mt Rushmore?

Roger Staubach - Captain Comeback was one of the best leaders the game has seen.

Emmit Smith - Toss his stats out and remember how we went 0-2 during his holdout. Jerry caved and the rest is history. We don't have the 90's dynasty without him.
