I have absolutely no idea why he would agree to go back to the 34.

Me neither. I don't see SD as being a better team than us either. Where is he from? Maybe he is sick of the cold winters in the Midwest. But I don't see how playing on a line with Suh, Fairley, and Ansah wouldn't be a DE's dream.

He's from Connecticut, and played college ball at Syracuse.

Big loss on both sides IMO. Could've been a perfect fit.

Pretty simple as far as I can tell, he wasn't going to wait around forever and we don't have the free money right now to sign much of anyone.

SD has zero proven pass rushers but an excellent young 3-4 line. They just lost Ingram and had a starting role open. He is familiar with Telesco from their years spent together in Indy. It's unfortunate sure but it makes perfect sense to me. Everything is set up for him there to be the main and pretty much only pass rusher and to get 13 or 14 sacks and become a big commodity in the open market again next year.

Still, he wasn't half the player in that scheme as he was in the 4-3.

Reggie Bush came Detroit because of the obvious fit. Even Freeney's father saw the obvious fit for him in Detroit.
