The former LB bust of the 2009 draft will try to save his career with the New York Giants

Terms of the deal were not disclosed but sources say it was 1 yr for the veteran minimum.

First Keith Rivers and now Aaron Curry.

All your RBs will go down 5 yards past the LOS!

Of course it was.

Dan Connor and Aaron Curry will revitalize their careers then get picked up for multi-year, multi-million dollar contracts by some other team. It's inevitable. It's what the Giants do.

Let me give you my personal opinion, on what I think has happened.
It all started with the release of the coke machine in Brandon Jacobs.

One of the "can't miss" prospects turned journeyman. Hope he gets it turned around.

Curry is a good guy. I don't know about Seattle but he got a raw deal in Oakland. They traded for him and for half a season, he came in and played with a lot of energy. He made a lot of mistakes but the whole unit was pretty terrible. Then he got hurt and started the next season on PUP (under a different regime) and was released instead of activated because Miles Burris and Phillip Wheeler were both looking pretty solid IIRC.

Best of luck to him.

Playboy will make his tackles behind the LOS.

He was released because he drew 2 personal fouls in the few snaps he played and his knee is pretty much shot.

Please don't attempt to fill that void. No one will ever come close.

Solid little risk, big reward signing.

That 09 class was my first year really following the draft. Had a bad man crush on Curry back then. The only guy I have ever called "Can't miss."

As for now, we need a LB. He is a LB. Won't take much to be better than Paysinger or Herz. He should see time. Still disappointed we couldnt land Karlos.

We could always go all out for the Andrew Jackson Jihad next year. Laughing

Giants doctors have a good track record with bringing in/letting go of players based on leg injuries, so I'm not concerned about it. Our LB group is as ragtag as the Eagles secondary right now. Thank god we rarely have more than one LB out there. Laughing

I'm not. Just trying to make a reference.

If he could get his head on straight, he may actually be good.

I wish I had the .gif where he's running away from the play. Laughing

Always thought Curry was going to be a perennial Pro Bowler, let's see if he can get it together with the Giants.

I could be wrong, but I read that he was cut because of salary reasons. I also heard he went to Germany to get that state of the art knee treatment that some pro athletes are getting. Hopefully his knee holds up.

Instead of spending their own high draft picks on linebackers, the Giants are going to pick up other team's mistakes and hope they can revive a career. Despite not investing much in the position, I think the Giants have four linebackers that are talented enough to see the field (Williams, Rivers, Connor, Curry). And in today's NFL most of the time you only have two on the field anyway.
