Ziggy Ansah is signed. According to the Detroit Free Press, Lions have signed all 9 draft picks already. Cool

^^NFL.com says Ansahs deal is for 5 years.

Fisher should be signed quickly. Luck signed a 4 year/22.1million deal last year so maybe Fishers signs 4-5/23.5 million.

It won't be higher than Luck, especially because he's a OT. Just my opinion though.

I thought the same thing, but, there might be a higher number solely based on some sort of escalation. Very well could be the same deal Luck got.

Not sure why people get excited about signing picks first. Not like it makes a real difference whether you sign them right away or last minute. It always gets done in the end.

Easy. More time in camps. More reps. Better prepared to start year. Ansah needs all the dang reps he can get.

A Reminder from Your (Mostly) Friendly NFL News Mods:

This is a master thread for all reports of 1st Round Pick signings. All discussion on the topic can remain in this thread - and please refrain from starting individual threads for each prospect (we don't need 32 threads all in the queue making it difficult for others to read and discuss other News topics).

Also, as always, keep discussion to football. If you want to discuss the merits of a particular 1st round selection, I'm fairly certain you can find a more appropriate thread either in the respective team sub-forum or the NFL Draft forum.

Cam Newton's contract was 4/$22.03, so if Fisher gets more then Luck it won't be as large as you think it will be. Also I believe if Ansah's contract is similar to Luck and Griffin's the 5th year is optional.

It was my impression that draft slotting isn't taking position into account anymore.

Which is wrong. He just got a lot of work in at the rookie mini camp. Like I said he needs EVERY rep he can get.

You don't need to be under contract to participate in rookie mini camp
