WR Lavelle Hawkins has agreed to a two-year deal with the #Patriots. Was just released by #Titans last week

Hawkins also visited the #Texans following his release, and the #Giants also wanted him to visit. Found a fit with #Patriots #tntitans

Hawkins set career highs with 47 catches for 470 yards and a TD in 2011 but played only 7 games in 2012 and finished with 5 catches.

The Patriots didn't have much experience on the roster in the WR position so Hawkins brings that.

I don't know too much about him, but sounds like he will just be a role player, if he is still on the team after camp.

Normally when you have a great quarterback you surround him with good weapons to maximize his potential. Apparently two broke down tight ends are enough.

With the class he showed when he was released, I'm hoping for the best for him.

He is actually pretty good. Tom Brady will make him look 10x better than he is though. Might as well sign Tebow for that triple TE set as well. Smile

I like this for Hawk. He's a guy who isn't really off-the-charts amazing at anything, but it's not as if he's terrible either. Catching passes from Brady is about as good a shot as any he'll ever get to show if he can do the job. Tennessee wasn't a great setting for a guy like him.

He couldn't have had a better landing spot.

Coming out of college his receivers coach thought he was better than DeSean Jackson (both came from Cal same year), obviously that hasn't held true, but given the right coaching he had his moments. However, he never really capitalized and was usually on the inactives list come Sunday. I hope he makes the roster but it's really a long shot.

Good pickup for New England. Tom Brady as your QB is always a good thing.

He'll probably be cut before the regular season.

As good as the Patriots offense was last year (before their pass catchers broke down), imagine Brady with a true #1 receiver. Oh wait, we already saw that and he broke damn near every passing record. Imagine Tom Brady on the Falcons. He would break the NFL in half.

Why do you think that? He'll be competing with Donald Jones and Mike Jenkins for a spot. Every chance of beating out those two.

He sucks and I think it's 70-80% likely that 6 WRs make the roster over him, barring injury.

Yea he doesn't suck at all. I see no reason why he won't make the team. There's definitely not 6 WRs on that team that are better
