Yes, that's why this thread is pointless at this stage of the offseason

Gilreath has a better chance than most of the non-obvious roster locks.

Was he waived by Tampa and resigned by the Steelers?

I think he has a pretty good shot to make the roster. Now that Brown is going to be the teams #1, they aren't going to want him to be returning punts as much. I think that Gilreath has a very good shot at winning that job and being the #5 wr

I'm hoping that the steelers will make it a honest competition by letting Cotchery, Gilreath, and Wheaton to compete for #3 WR or rather Slot WR. I don't even see us being in a position to play it safe with younger players, you play the guys that offer best chance to boost your team, offensively.

Hopefully it'll look like this:

3rd WR: Wheaton, Cotchery, and vs Gilreath.

If either Wheaton or Gilreath wins, we let Cotchery go.

If Cotchery wins, we leave #4 WR to the remaining., but I want the first scenario where we let Cotchery and here's a reason-we are athletically good at the depth of wide receivers and I don't see why we wouldn't take advantage of it.

For first scenario, the #4th WR would be competed by Plaxico, either Gilreath/Wheaton, Justin Brown, R. Dunn, and Derrick Moye.

Hopefully this will be a redzone WR, some kind of packages.

We really should keep 5 wide receivers and I wouldn't be surprised if it look like this:
Antonio Brown, Manny Sanders,Markus Wheaton, David Gilreath, and Justin Brown with us stashing either Dunn or Moye on PS. I love me some youth fusion!

Nothing Ive seen from Gilreath makes me think he should be on any active roster. Not saying that cannot change, but not from what he has shown thus far.

And if they add Steve Breaston, I can pretty much guarantee he has no shot.

I wont be shocked if a surprise makes the team, but I personally think Justin Brown has a better chance than Gilreath...although thats based on pure gut at this point.

I think Howling and Dunn have a better shot at taking those spots IMO

Burress will make the team, we need a vet like him, and hes not all that bad plus adds some height which we don't have
